REMEMBERING RBG
Fall 2020
This was one of my first graphic design assignments.
The election of 2020 was looming, social unrest was a daily occurrence, and Ruth Bader Ginsberg had just passed away. Given the message and the ongoing protests revolving around racial injustice, I wanted to marry the two into one concept.
The photograph is fair-use and shows people, of all stripes, exercising their First Amendment rights. It sets the tone before the quote starts to play across the screen.
I applied an adjustment layer to make it black and white and then used a color block to aid in the readability of the text and garner visual interest.
I varied the type point size to help give the type visual flow. The last transition was a simple reminder to vote - providing the date and website to assist with any questions.
